2825 MERCHANT MILE, COLUMBUS, IN 47201

Based on comments in the PlugShare app for Electric Vehicle owners, I dropped by Chevrolet of Columbus on the day of the Indy 500 to charge my i3. Many dealers make it known that they restrict their chargers to cars they have sold or serviced OR that are of the manufacturer they are selling. Chevrolet of Columbus doesn't appear to follow that narrow thinking. They seem open to supporting EVs of all stripes. As such, I tried to charge my i3 there using their Level 3 quick charger. Plan was to charge for 30 minutes and grab a bite to eat at a local restaurant. When the Level 3 charger didn't work, I decided to try the Level 2 charger by the service bay doors. It worked fine. Unfortunately, I would need to leave the car there for a longer time to get any value from it. My son was coming up from Louisville and meeting me in Columbus. As such, since their Service is closed on Sunday and there was nobody around to check with, I just left it parked there (not blocking any doors or other cars) with a note in the windshield to call me if anyone needed me to answer questions about it. Came back to the car after the race and all was fine and car was fully charged. Hope the comments in the PlugShare app accurately reflect Chevrolet of Columbus' support of EVs. If so, I think this is a great decision by the management. (I even got to look over the Bolt parked out front while I was waiting for my son. Pretty snazzy car that I would definitely consider if I was in the market for an EV.)
